Gross Anatomical Study of Congenital Meningoencephalocoele and Craniofacial Deformities in A Kid

Background: Occurrence of congenital anomalies are less common in small ruminants, especially goats compared to sheep. Most cause for the deformities new born ruminants is due ingestion toxic plants during gestation. Congenital meningoencephalocoele with associated craniofacial a rare occurrence goats. Materials: A day old crossbred kid was presented cranial defects and protrusion brain through defect. Detailed examination animal revealed cranioschisis frontal parietal region along presence cleft lip, palate accessory ear lobe on right side. Herniation meninges exposed directly not covered by skin. There were two separated plate bone. Result: Postmortem showed bilateral lip lateral deviation nasal septum deformation premaxillary region. On reflection skin over region, situated subcutaneously. total three (two one region) plates bone between them. This present study explains anatomical aspects cranioschisis, meningoencephalocoele, abnormalities kid.
